Li-Ning x Erik Ellington Bruce Lee model Sneaker

First presented during ComplexCon 2021, Li-Ning and Erik Ellington present a special make up of the Erik Ellington signature model, celebrating the ongoing partnership with the legacy of Bruce Lee, the pioneer of martial arts reform and first global promoter of Chinese Kung Fu.  Erik Ellington enters with a highly anticipated footwear release that unveils his signature model inspired by the black shoes and white socks Bruce Lee used to wear to practice Kung-Fu. Designed with a removable canvas upper, it reveals dark suede leather with a dragon pattern print on one side and Bruce Lee spelled out on the other. Li-Ning’s Bruce Lee collection consists of a full range of footwear and apparel items and pays tribute to Bruce Lee‘s Martial Arts Philosophy.  The Li-Ning x Erik Ellington Bruce Lee model sees another release with select global retailers, exclusively available at SSENSE and Sneaker District now.

Li-Ning x Erik Ellington SUN-RISE

In partnership with skateboarding icon Erik Ellington, Li-Ning continues to consolidate its lately introduced Skateboarding category by releasing a new colorway of the Erik Ellington signature model entitled “SUN-RISE”. The new colorway follows, the in July announced partnership, as the second drop and stays true to his origin by delivering a high-performance skate shoe.

SUN-RISE underlines the contemporary aesthetic of Erik Ellington’s signature silhouette which redefines the classic skateboarding shoe with modern materials and technology to improve the function, comfort, and product performance. Inspired by the sunrise, the black upper harmonizes smoothly with the gradient pink-purple midsole which expresses the morning light while the other details echo the overall theme-story. Additionally, the shoelaces come with a 3M reflective yarn.

By offering maximum comfort and minimal weight, Li-Ning’s engineered “BOOM” mid-sole technology becomes the centerpiece of the lately introduced colorway. The large area use of translucent materials enhances the sense of technology and hierarchy as well as gives you full control while skateboarding.

Li-Ning x Erik Ellington Collection

The Li-Ning x Erik Ellington collaboration will debut his first signature sneaker with the brand, as well as a full line of apparel penned for later in the year. Despite its contemporary aesthetic, the Ellington Signature Model is at its core a high-performance skate shoe. Engineered with Li-Ning's "BOOM" midsole technology, the design draws inspiration from styles Ellington grew up wearing, referencing the appeal of vintage basketball and running shoes. "The tongue flap is an homage to the double tongues we used to rock on our shoes in the mid-90s", Ellington explains. "With this design, we explored new material combinations that have never made their way into a skate shoe before, like the ripstop toe-cage and sealed double tongue flap." The shoe is showcased in a campaign majorly influenced by the energy of New York and the style of skaters on Ellington's team. Shot by buzzing street photographer Lukas Gansterer whose raw, candid style pays homage to the world-renowned NYC street skateboard scene and perfectly meshes with the hard-hitting look of the collection and team including skaters Zach Allen, Tinga Johnson and Davey Sayles.
