an info dump about my RebFNAF au, “A New Dawn”!

-> important notes before beginning

- my timeline only /generally/ follows the same beats as the original, but some things are different, like, for instance, the fnaf 2 location isn’t open for as long as it is in reb’s og timeline, and the time between the fazbear killer’s death and the events of fnaf 3 is a little shorter, like 10 or 15 years or so

- also, important note: Vincent is NOT responsible for the missing children incident or for luring little Mike to be bitten; the fazbear killer is a separate character (yet to be named, is NOT William Afton because i feel like that opens a can of worms that i don’t have the willpower to touch, but is similar to him in his relationship to the company) who is largely responsible for these things

- there are also very brief, non-detailed mentions of drug use, mental illness, sh, criminal coercion, and (of course, sadly) murder, both completed and attempted- please tread carefully!!

ok let’s get into it!

- this au takes place in 2005-2006; the specific Freddy Fazbear’s location where everything has gone down has closed its doors, though the company is not straightforward on why in their public statement, but the franchise is still operating in other places so Byron/“Boss” is still plenty busy- with that, the main five + others are no longer working there and are moving forward in their lives to the best of their abilities

- Mike (28) and Dahlia/“Doll” (26) are finally married and living in their own cute little home with their dog!!

- Mike of course still struggles with his disability, but he is in a better place mentally and is working on trying to quit smoking and drinking, or at least achieve reasonable moderation; he has also mellowed out a little bit and has become a little more gentle

- Mike harbors a lot of guilt about not being able to help the missing children/not knowing how to; I think it would be so metal if him and the fazbear killer had a face-off sometime in the fnaf 3 era

- Juniper* (21) has started attending community college and has managed to raise enough money and resources to begin transitioning; she’s much much happier and more confident (Mike helped her with that too :3) and has been clean from self-harming for a bit over a year!

*if you don’t know who Juniper is, Juniper is my iteration of J. Fitzgerald! she was originally AMAB and named Jay Finch

- Millie (22) has graduated & attained much needed independence from her mother and is living on her own (with some help from her father)

- Millie and Juni are going on strong as ever and are planning their future together <3

- Mike and Juni have pretty mundane but decent, good paying jobs- Mike has an odd job as a pet sitter too!

- Fritz (27) is living his best life as a Geek Squad agent and lives with Juni in their own little two-person apartment with their cute lil pets

- Chris (23) has completed his transition and is a full-blown tattoo artist, as well as a musician with a small yet growing following!

- the four of them are still great friends and go out and have fun together often

- Scott (32)… oh, Scott… that poor sweet man. after what he’s been through, he’s very depressed and remorseful, and is just trying to regain a sense of normalcy

- Vincent (33) still has a criminal history, though entailing nothing as severe as murder, BUT he was coerced by the killer into being a kind of accomplice for him, and when the guilt became too great, he tried to get the killer arrested, but he made a small yet grave miscalculation which tipped off the killer on what he was doing, so the killer forcefully tranquilized him, put him in a springlock suit, and when he woke up, the killer gave Vincent an ultimatum (“keep your mouth shut or i’ll make the springlocks go off and stage this like an accident”)- Vincent refused to secede even in the face of death, and survived the subsequent failure by sheer luck, though not without great injury

- Vincent and Scott have been broken up for a while, but they cross paths once more and their bond rekindles, now a little stronger because of what they’ve gone through (i quite like soft domestic purplephone… pls let me have this…)

- a few years later, the killer destroys the original animatronics (which, at this point, were completely abandoned) and by cruel irony, is subsequently springlocked; then eventually, the events of fnaf 3 happen, the establishment is burned down by some unknown assailant, and the children’s spirits are finally set free :,)

when i was debating adding vincent to my island, i resolved to make a little pet version of him for scott (just as a lil purplephone microdose while also not having to expose my other residents to vincentism) and scott absolutely LOVED him from the moment he got him

my attachment to the characters in r*bornica’s fnaf au has developed into me considering making my iteration of the au take place at a point where the members of the main cast no longer work at freddy’s and are trying to heal from the insane and sad things they’ve been through, yet they also get up to their own lil shenanigans. i call it “fnaf: a new dawn” 👉👈 bear with me… pleek…. i’m just a girl who loves wholesome sappy slice of life…
