Title: A Traitorous Heart | Author: Erin Cotter | Publisher: Simon & Schuster (2025)
But ofttimes a lie is not a lie but a fiction we must tell ourselves to make life bearable. To move on instead of staying stuck forever in what-could-have-beens.

Everything fun in England is illegal, and men kissing men is no exception. But a man who's got the sense to kiss only men of his own station usually goes unnoticed.

I thought him good and honest because, why, he has been kind to me? Kindness does not make someone honest.

Usually not a fan of illustrated covers but I saw this one and I had to have it!
Please help me welcome my newest client – Young Adult author, Erin Cotter. Her smartly-written manuscript was a 2017 PitchWars finalist.
I fell in love with this YA contemporary romance that’s reminiscent of ELEANOR AND PARK and knew I had to help find it a home right away. It’s insightful and hilarious with a dynamic relationship between two main characters, Albert and Rosa, as they struggle to find a way to save one of the last African American businesses in East Austin – Rosa’s Gran’s bakery, Honey Buns – from a money-hungry developer who just happens to be Albert’s father.
Erin is an author and scholar living in Austin, Texas. When she’s not writing YA fiction, she’s working on her PhD in American Literature and Silent Film. On the rare occasions she’s not doing either of those things, she can be found snuggling with her cats and dog, eating tacos, and searching for the elusive Golden-cheeked Warbler in the Texas Hill Country.
Once again, welcome, Erin! We’re so happy to have you on team KT!
