As soon as she'd replied to Sherlock's last text, Erin carefully placed both the bag of groceries and her handbag down far enough away so as to give her some room and to avoid knocking them over. She threw a couple of quick glances over both shoulders and around her to double-check that there was nothing else in her way, then took a couple of small steps backwards.
She focussed on the area just underneath the doorknob, shifted herself into the right position, and delivered several hard kicks until the door gave way enough for her to make her way inside. She moved back again, picked her bags back up and stepped past the door into the hallway, wondering why the hell Sherlock had let her do this to his own front door in the first place.
"Sherlock?" She called, trying to get the door as close to closed again as was possible.
OOC: If you love 'Erinlock' as Erin's mun and I do....
Perhaps you could let us know? I (and Erin's mun, I'm sure) would love to know that we're not just writing this for ourselves. So let us know? We both have ask boxes and submit boxes so use them!
A Study in Scarlett Fever
Sherlock pulled the silk sheet back up to his shoulders as he pulled himself back into Erin's embrace. Things had spilt back in to the bed at some point through the afternoon but now the sun was setting and Sherlock knew that Erin had to leave. He kissed her cheek and then spoke, "You really should call Lisbon. You've been here for two days."
As the two of them approached the bistro, Erin couldn't help but admire exactly how beautiful New York looked blanketed in snow. The city had always looked incredible to her and this took it to a whole new level. She gave Sherlock's hand a gentle squeeze and looked up at him to find his hair dusted with white snowflakes. She took one look at it before bursting into laughter, leaning over and resting her head against his shoulder while they walked up the sidewalk together.
As the sun rose through the eastern most windows of the brownstone
Sherlock's eyes flashed open. It'd been years since he had slept through sunrise but this morning was special. He was not rushing to take a shower and head down to turn on his scanners nor was he off to see a consultant about one of his many cases. No. This particular morning he laid still: moving only to look at the beautiful woman still sleeping on his arm. Erin. Two days ago he had been just as cold and depressed as he had ever been but now was a completely different story. Now, he had her. As Erin lay sleeping, he basked in her beauty as the morning light kissed her skin.
