Birthday Presents...
So, I'm typing this at the moment from my brand new Macbook Pro. It's a 13" 8GB version. It is so awesome and exactly what I needed :) I'm so happy and now I have my computer for college in like 8 months. heheh. Also, thanks to you all who sent me birthday messages last night / this morning. I really appreciate it! -Nikki.
I know none of you will probably do this but to make my week from hell a little better, it would be nice if at least one person put either a "happy birthday" or something nice in my ask box either for me to wake up to tomorrow or just to see before I fall asleep.
Marriage License Requirements...
Applicants are more closely related than second cousins (though there is an exception if you are first cousins and both at least sixty-five (65) years of age).
Like the fuck? If you're 65+ and marrying your 65+ first cousin that's okay? I dunno, that's just fucking weird no matter what. I don't even like the idea of being able to marry second cousins (which is legal).
Also, I plan to move to California (more specifically Los Angeles) after college. Out there, marrying your cousin is legal in Los Angeles County...
OMFG. NONONONONO.
Then again, who says I will fall in love with a man? And who knows if by the time I am ready for a domestic partnership/marriage that there won't be legalized gay marriage in California finally? Let's hope :)
Now Kentucky is thought of as inbred and such, when in reality, they prohibit first cousin marriage entirely (having the same second cousin rule as Indiana). But while looking through the prohibited/regulated things I saw this was prohibited in Kentucky:
Marriages with a person mentally incompetent.
Like I can understand in a sense but who says those who are that way not by choice can't find love?.. I just dislike that rule.
And New York, where a lot of artsy people go, well they allow cousin marriage as well as California, but they are more accepting by allowing same-sex marriage. YAY yet also NAY New York. (Yay to lgbt equality. Nay to first cousins.)
end of my little rant. sorry. just a personal issue.
what up!
