30 Day Challenge - Day 25

Day 25 - Someone who fascinates you and why.

Without a doubt, Errol Flynn.

I have no words for the way I feel about Errol Flynn. "Adoration" might be one, "admiration" another. I've never felt particularly attracted to him (unlike Cary Grant or Jack Lemmon, both of whom I would've married had I been alive back in the day), but I've always found him exhilarating to watch.

The man's fantastic, an amazing buckler of the swash (swashbuckler, kids, he was very pirate-y, and he will always be THE Robin Hood to me) and SUCH A CAD, but he had this deep romantic longing for Olivia de Havilland from the moment he laid eyes on her until the day he died. And he adored her and she adored him but they NEVER GOT TOGETHER. (She kept turning him down because he was a cad, and then he'd go get married and then subsequently divorced because he couldn't have her. This went on forever.)

I bought his autobiography (appropriately entitled My Wicked Wicked Ways) not too long ago, and while I haven't sat down to read it all the way through yet, I did flip through a few chapters in the middle. It's..fascinating. Haha.
