1) toska is an easy one. transliteration of the Russian word Тоска, which basically means anguish, it's also the name of a short story by Anton Chekhov about a cabman whose son recently died; he tries to talk to others about his grief, but ends up only able to talk to his horse. verdict: character exploration of bertro and his grief, heavily featuring his relationship with geri. i'm inclined to say he'd be grieving cullen's death earlier in the loop, but he could also be grieving for avi. he could be grieving for himself. maybe all of the above!

2) this is.. way harder to answer. the word flâner immediately and unavoidably brings to mind flâneur, which is like a super nuanced term, an archetype, a Type Of Guy a lot of people had a bunch of different takes on. like I'd have to have a decent grasp on fucking. 19th century France's sociopolitical landscape to really appreciate the connotations. and i GUESS i could write something titled flâner without engaging with flânerie the phenomenon but like. why would i? get real. anyways from my LOOSE understanding of the term, the flâneur was affluent, male, and in some way detached from the spaces they passed through and observed. so, verdict: something heavily involving arc, either as an influence in the Wanderer's life in a loop where they're family, or... something following them before and after the fujimi academy experiments, illustrating their inability to Connect with broader Tokyo society, first bc despite their desire for connection they're a poor orphan (scoring some irony points against the affluence of the flâneur) and then later, despite their newfound babs-won wealth, they're super traumatized and fundamentally incapable of connecting with the world the way they could before. almost certainly featuring their resentment of the protag.

3) ??? why ALBANIAN?? verdict: I don't know what you want from me here 😭. are there even any Albanian characters in housamo for whom that term would have any meaning??

Not sure if you know or not but Housamo is currently having a survey (docs@google@com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfCh3mshD3pQROAmn1DMfSKyWCI_IEl4zXjvCZShP9lGwMonQ/viewform) (@ -> .). I would recommend contributing if only to air any grievance at all about the game, however small and ineffectual.

genuine answer: i like this game a hell of a lot! certain parts of it. despite my MANY complaints with this game and my opinion on it being broadly negative, there are aspects of it that i enjoy and am greatly invested in/hopelessly fixated upon, enough so that i cannot stop thinking about them and i'm generally willing to subject myself to the various wretched parts to see how the parts i'm invested in play out. i FREQUENTLY dislike how they're actualized in the game itself but i'm completely, obsessively in love with this story and the potential has and every once in a while that potential is realized in a way that hits me like a fucking bus. a great deal of my dislike of this game comes from my love for the game it could be, if they had a bit more? respect? for the story they were telling AND TAKE THEIR FOOT OFF THE GAS W THE RACISM/ ANTISEMITISM/ PEDOPHILIA. complaining is a love language, of sorts. i would not be thinking about this game nearly as much as i am if i didn't appreciate anything about it

andvari being a scheming, crafty, duplicitous, money-obsessed, ambiguously brown man (not that it would be… not-antisemitic if he wasn’t brown, but alot of antisemitic caricatures will portray jewish people as brown/Very Clearly Not White so it’s like. extra antisemitism points). like i’m pretty sure his whole deal begins and ends at being a blatant antisemitic stereotype it’s honestly fucking shocking

in general, be on the lookout for like 'this brown person is SCHEMING and UNTRUSTWORTHY' in the flavours of 'Masterminding everything (particularly re: the government and/or with under/overtones of a fear of Infiltrators Taking Over) behind the scenes' or 'money-obsessed.' also, insinuating apparently human jewish characters (or characters With Antisemitic Undertones In Their Design/Characterization) are serpents/snakes/lizards. pardon the fairly vague spoilers but there's also just straight up going to be a (sympathetic! your player character befriends him) character whose design blatantly invokes nazi imagery pretty soon! and it just keeps on fucking going!

Aside from Housamo, are you in other fandoms as well, like, I don’t know, Twisted Wonderland or LOL or Genshin? Do you also have dedicated Tumblr blogs for other fandoms that you may be in? I would like to hear your thoughts on things outside of Housamo too, like maybe on the Fate franchise; it’s been argued by some that LifeWonders ripped off FSN’s premise in an attempt for financial gains.

i would not describe myself as In any fandoms and the only reason i started this blog is bc i couldn't possibly be whole-hog housamo on main bc this game is so fucking awful.

i don't play any of that stuff you said (whatever genre housamo is, housamo is my only experience with it) but i do have various other things i am varying levels of autistic about, which i will list in a rb so they don't show up in any searches lol but my main is @togoisms
