so guess who's never getting over what jack says here!

it's a line that's devastating on it's own. it's heartbreaking, because jack feels so terribly betrayed by joke all over again, even though all joke was trying to do is save him.

but it's not just that. it's worse, because that's what the whole show's been about this entire time.

in english, the title we've been given is "Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart!" which is the most darling, lighthearted little play on words ever.

but the thai title? it's "Jack & Joker: ทำไมต้องเป็นเธอทุกที," which (according to MyDramaList) translates to "Jack & Joker: Why Does it Always Have to Be You?"

and isn't that exactly what jack's asking now? of everything that had to happen, of everyone that is to blame, why does have to be joke that is at fault again?

from the beginning, this entire show was meant to be about how it's almost inevitable that these two will hurt each other in some way or another. their lives have been entwined since that first moment 5 years ago, and regardless of whose fault it is, both of them are bound to be hurt because of just how much they want to save each other. ultimately, jack and joke are – quite literally – doomed by the narrative that they're in.

and all they can do is find a way to break this cycle that viciously dictates their lives – both in the world they're in and in the grand scheme of the show itself.

okay but can we talk about fang. khaofang – darling, sweet, elder brother fang – who doesn't know how to let himself be loved.

khaofang who doesn't think he can be loved because he's "too unreasonable" and "doesn't behave well." khaofang who was taught that love always comes with conditions. khaofang who is certain that everyone will leave the people they love – just like their parents did with phum.

khaofang, whose only wish is that tan offers him a warning before he leaves. if only so that he can prepare for what he sees as inevitable.

but he has tan. tan – kind, gentle, walking angel on earth tan – who knows that he is loved.

tan who is there every time fang needs him, ready to listen to his grievances and shower him in reassurance. tan who is unashamed of his love for fang, who will shout it from rooftops and whisper it in secret all the same. tan who promises fang a forever he never thought he deserved.

tan, whose only wish is that khaofang truly understands how cherished he is. so that he knows that when tan says forever, he really, truly means it.

almost insulting how beautiful he is. how is one person allowed to be that stunning.

my heart broke for faifa this episode :(

because while yotha was being reassured that his mother does love and want him, faifa was given a glaring reminder that the only purpose she sees in him is keeping the family together. his only use is to be the glue – their mother literally admits that if it was yotha that went, she would’ve risked the chance of forgetting the other two siblings entirely. that she loves yotha more than them.

and then she says that she’s leaving for good, and look at his face.

that's the face of that shitty, terrible, bitter realization that he has lost his purpose to her, now. that he has been used and taken advantage of all this while. and that, at the end of it, he’s being thrown away, like a old tool that’s rusted over.

it's the face of regret, of contempt, of anger.

most of all, it's the face of conviction. of a certainty that says he will never receive the kind of love that everyone else does.

that last fadelstyle scene in ep7…. the way style knows he has fadel wrapped around his finger, despite literally having a gun held to his head. the way fadel puts it down because knows he won’t be able to pull the trigger, even as he convinces himself that’s not true.

the way that, despite having every reason not to, they still trust each other inherently above all else </3

cannot stop thinking about the romeraffy/tanfang parallels... something about the way they interact is so deeply familiar to me? while still being so distinct?

so, after much pondering, i've come to the conclusion that rome and raffy are tan and fang if they hadn't met until university (and if fang was an only child :P)
