Food for thought. So, at least in the English dub, the yokai call humans “mortal”. That doesn’t imply the yokai are “immortal” though would it? Because, they’re not. They can and do die. Even when not killed.
outoftomorrow: Okay, see–I’ve never watched the dub…And I don’t intend to ever watch it-(I cannot stand the English voices at all, or the fact that they cannot pronounce the names right to save their lives, and a lot of the translation sucks) But I do believe that calling humans mortal is a grave error. Because it does lead one to think that the youkai are immortal And they most certainly are not. They are much longer lived—but they do grow old and they do die. They should have just stuck to saying Human. But that’s just my two cents. lol.
