Erusalem Japanese Review

Erusalem is a member of one of the later generations of the Vipperloids. However, when I tried to download her years ago, every link seemed to have been deleted. Her official site is still MIA, but the download link is back up, so I wanted to make a tribute to her on this blog.

The only place I know of that has her download link is UTAU Wiki 2.0. Under Voicebank Distribution, there’s a google drive link her voicebanks can be downloaded from. She has two, but I’m only going over the Japanese one today.

Design

Erusalem’s design is far from being cliche, and I respect it for that. Her military uniform and weapons make her stand out a lot, and so does her gritty color palette. The headphones are more typical for UTAU/singer designs, but they’re very tastefully integrated.

One of the least appreciated parts of her design, to me, is the scarves weaved around her outfit and weapons. They give the entire a look a feminine and regal touch that make it a lot more special.

First Impressions

Erusalem has a low, mature, strong voice that’s crisp and clear. It’s a simple CV with few extra samples, so my comments may be a little scarce, but it’s not because of a lack of quality.

Configuration

Erusalem uses a basic CV reclist. However, she was recorded on quality equipment and comes across as very clear.

Her samples are very short though, meaning that using her for long notes and slower songs is not ideal. Her “kyo” sample in particular is cut off, which makes it sound mispronounced when in the editor.

Ease of Use

Aside from the issues with her samples being short, Erusalem is generally very simple to use. She slides into rock and rougher sounding pop with ease. Her voice is unique, but clear enough that it could be used for almost anything.

Final Thoughts

Erusalem is a solid, simple voicebank that isn’t technically impressive, but has a lot to love. Her vice type is unique and fans of lower feminine voices will want to check her out!
