I’ll do Erynn, from COA 2. Maybe it’ll make me feel better about all the torment I’ve been putting him through lately...
1. What is your full name?
Erynn Sovgaard.
2. What does it mean?
I’m not sure, I never asked!
3. Do you have any nicknames or other names
A few people call me ‘Ery’ - I don’t think I have any other nicknames. You can call me whatever you’d like though.
4. What’s your gender?
Male.
5. What is your sexuality?
Why? ... are you interested? ;)
6. Where are you from?
Ryvik is my home region. It’s a place I’ll never take for granted; there’s something special about the island and the people.
7. How old are you?
Oh! I should have known I’d be asked this.
I’m thirty.
8. Any special talents?
I can do quite a few different bird-calls, does that count as a special talent?
9. Any kids?
No... not exactly.
My father and I took in a young girl after she was orphaned. Because my job requires me to travel a lot, I don’t see myself as her adoptive father. Maybe an adoptive uncle.
10. What’s your aesthetic?
Green, definitely. Green plants - any plants really. Feathers, raindrops, sails...
11. Who’s your best friend?
Marc is a good friend of mine back home. I have a few close friends, but I’m not sure there is any one best friend.
12. Would you ever get piercings or tattoos?
I might have one... that’s all I’ll say, *laughs*
13. When are you happiest?
Happiness can be found in many places at any time.
One thing that never fails to make me happy is spending time with loved ones.
14. What’s your biggest secret?
Perhaps once there is true peace between regions I’ll tell you.
15. Last question: What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Their reaction to my greeting - do they seem glad to meet me? Nervous? Angry? Given my job, I do my best to notice early on how they feel about me so I can best make them feel at ease and form good relations for future interactions.

“How is she doing?”
“She’s still a little upset.”
Ziel swallowed, shoving his hands into the ends of his sleeves.
“It’s nothing compared to what I’ve done.”
Echoes of his own voice resounded in his mind as he stared into the fire.
“Are-,” Erynn cleared his throat, “are you going to be alright when we return?”
He slowly twisted around to look at Erynn, who had turned his full attention to him.
Parting his lips slightly, he could only reply with silence as his words slipped away with his breath.
But it didn’t matter.
Ziel could name a long list of all that mattered.
But he himself was not on that list.

The Messenger

“What about this one?” Ivy asked, waving a small yellow flower in front of her face.
Smiling, he gently took it from her, “Perfect!”
She ran off into the clearing once more, disappearing in the tall grass as she bent down to search for more plants.
Erynn carefully placed the flower between the pages of his journal, then pressed it closed firmly. His father always told him he was meant to be a naturalist. His knowledge and collection of fauna and flora on the island had become quite extensive. What he hadn’t learned himself, he had learned from doctors, herbalists, hunters, and those he had met along his travels. Of all the flowers, and of all the small creatures, birds were his favorite. He found them intelligent, diverse, and beautiful. Erynn had even befriended several birds on the island ... though he kept that to himself.
Erynn leisurely walked to the clearing, wondering what was taking Ivy so long.
“Should we move to a new location? Perhaps near the…” Erynn stopped as he had one foot in the wet grass. Ivy mumbled something, still on the ground in search of another sample.
However, on the far side of the clearing, a figure stood, watching them.
