ayyy i like how you both asked number 10 ahaha thank you for the interest! Xio @kuchenackerman Ery @eryshta ! this is probably more than you asked but here are my thoughts if you’re curious
since there were 2 asks for #10 (and also bc i want to keep the same number of positive and negative things), here are 6 things i like + dislike about making gfx
6 Things I like About Graphic Making:
Personally, I have multiple methods of making gfx (stationary gfx/edits, animated gifs with gfx elements e.g. , motion gfx, etc) so I like the endless possibilities I can do with a particular set of edits.
It trains me to develop various skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects (which will be helpful in the future)
Also helps me to improve my conceptual skills and trains me to think how I’d execute the gfx concept/idea visually and hopefully with impact
For motion gfx in particular—any kind of mgfx with black backgrounds or still images as backgrounds—I can export these as .gif files even if it’s over 100-300 frames sometimes; it’ll still be under 3MB.
It’s one of the easier ways for me to show my love for a particular series or its characters/ships! I find editing easier than doing art (which I’m still learning + trying to improve) or writing (meta is manageable for me but I can’t do creative writing)
I save all the psd/ai/aep files on my computer/hard drive; so if I ever forget how to make something, I can refer back to those
6 Things I dislike About Graphic Making:
I take s o l o n g to start and finish all my gfx - so trying to make gfx as soon there’s new animanga content is difficult for me hhhh
There’s always the possibility of people completing the same gfx/gif ideas as mine before I get to complete them. Because I take so long to complete my gfx and gif ideas - I’m quite paranoid of my gfx/gif ideas being completed faster (and better) by other people - anD then appearing as if I don’t have anything original to make sal;ksl;a*
I feel like a lot of the time my gfx (which takes a significantly longer time to complete than gifs) often gets less notes than the gifs and memes/shitposts I make which can be a little disheartening at times
The 3MB file limit for any animated gfx ls;akd;lsal;a smh tumbly it’s 2k18
How there’s only 256 colors available for Save for Web in PS >:C
The process of screencapping and/or converting videos to frames is pretty time consuming hhhhhh (which I need to do for all the gifs and gfx I make)
Ask the gfx maker!
