I love this picture so much, I'm so glad I found it again! It's also giving "there are two wolves inside you"

'Love us like you love our food.' I saw this quote from an article on @refinery29uk I read yesterday, and it really hit home. (full version 👉) I'm not great at articulating my feelings at the moment, so drawing has helped offload a little bit. I also feel that my personal experience doesn't need spotlighting right now, so I'm going to continue sharing stories, articles and resources that really need to be read in my insta stories. ❤️ Please know though that if you are also mixed Asian/other, and you've experienced racial transgressions big or small, that your experiences are valid and important. ❤️ . Also quick note: I've chosen to represent Thai food because I am Thai, but this carries across all ESEA ❤️ . . . . . . #stopasianhate #stopasianhatecrime #hateisavirus #asianyouth #bothnothalf #illustration #illustrator #art #artist #illustratoroninstagram #artistoninstagram #digitalillustration #drawing #digitalart #asian #thailand #esea #thaifood https://www.instagram.com/p/CM0Om_zDV3V/?utm_medium=tumblr

“What could possibly be gained from such a bill?!? I cannot fathom. Just what do you expect to happen if these changes take place? Give all this control to the states? Seriously? We've already seen just how concerned the GOP in Texas is about the safety and education of our kids - ranked 43rd in the nation for quality education, 11% of Texas kids without health insurance, the CPS/foster care crisis, budget cuts on therapies for disabled kids... and all Dan Patrick can talk about is bathrooms.
I am just... I just... I've got nothing.
Thanks a lot to all you asshats who continue to vote for the idiots making this nonsense happen - all because... Why? You hate poor people? You hate brown people? You hate women? I don't know! I don't get you! You're just awful!
And all you "middle-of-the-roaders," too - hey. You're awesome. Those non-votes and protest votes sure did work out great for us, huh? Now we're all screwed but definitely, yes, stay there on your smarmy, non-committal high horse while our education system burns to the ground.
And I haven't even gotten started on the environment yet. BLERGH ARGH MERFFF PFTHHHH
(I'm totally kickboxing the air right now but in my head it's your faces)

[Senate Bill 6 is a kick in the throat, but] House Bill 610 makes some large changes. Inform yourselves. This bill will effectively start the school voucher system to be used by children ages 5-17, and starts the defunding process of public schools. In addition the bill will eliminate the Elementary and Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), which is the nation's educational law and provides equal opportunity in education. ESEA is a comprehensive program that covers programs for struggling learners, AP classes, ESL classes, classes for minorities such as Native Americans, Rural Education, Education for the Homeless, School Safety (Gun-Free schools), Monitoring and Compliance and Federal Accountability Programs. The bill also abolishes the Nutritional Act of 2012 (No Hungry Kids Act) which provides nutritional standards in school breakfast and lunch. The bill has no wording whatsoever protecting special needs kids, no mention of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Act) or the right to free and appropriate public education. Some things ESEA does for Children with Disabilities -Ensures access to the general education curriculum. -Ensures access to accommodations on assessments. -Ensures concepts of Universal Design for Learning -Includes provisions that require local education agencies to provide evidence-based interventions in schools with consistently underperforming subgroups. -Requires states in Title I plans to address how they will improve conditions for learning including reducing incidents of bullying and harassment in schools, overuse of discipline practices and reduce the use of aversive behavioral interventions (such as restraints and seclusion). Please call your representative and ask him/her to vote NO on House Bill 610 (HR 610).
