ha ha ha i’m so bad at reliably reading fanfics i don’t think i can even get to seven to recommend 

well, let’s get the narcissism out of the way. of my own work, “of heists and hustles” is my favourite story i’ve written, hands down. if you’re unfamiliar with sly cooper, not to worry! i intentionally wrote the story from the zoop side because i knew one fandom was far larger than the other. multiple people have told me they’ve enjoyed it despite knowing nothing of the other characters.

for oneshots i’ve done, the ones that spring to mind are “graveyard shift” (a done-in-one hallowe’en adventure for nick and judy) and “victoria and the vixen” (hands down my greatest contribution to this fandom)

now, in the genre of ‘stories not written by me’:-“10-97” by samur_umlal. a concise, emotive story with an atmospheric narrative and an interesting look at the predator experience. really loved this one. (also, “it’s not personal” by the same author)-“through a glass, darkly” by whatabummer. high concept - exactly how i like it! - but with the focus firmly on character. that character being nick. two of him. simultaneously suffering. good times. just came off a hiatus, too!-“fox on the run” by johnsoneer. nick is running from the zpd, and worse, agent jack savage is on the case too. judy needs to balance everything perfectly to bring him home.-“water under the bridge” by writeanon. i preferred the comic sequel, “water under the burrows”, but this story is popular for a reason. the archetypal ‘nick and judy solve a new case while ~discovering their feelings~’ fic. it gets gory, though. avoid this if you don’t want to read about an irish ferret maiming the bejaysus out of other living beings(also, if you count comics, “judy is dead” by burrows artist mistermead. another seminal fanwork, again, for good reason)-“fluffy and scruffy” by drummermax64. i don’t think any human person reads and comments on more zoop fanfiction than max, so i was really hyped to see him start his own anthology. the first chapter is some good ol’ fashioned fluff, in stark contrast to pretty much everything on this list-finally, “take it slow” by amythis. this is the greatest fanfic of all time. that is all.

What did you like about the new season of South Park? I've been trying to get into the show and I don't know which season to start with.

it really doesn’t matter what episode you start with, but the movie is a really good introduction to the series. and after that, i’d suggest seasons 7-9, those are pretty damn solid

Rusty's instructions are calm, precise. They've both donned lab coats, safety goggles and even helmets — no precaution spared for his son, after all, especially without the safety net of cloning to account for any 'accidents'. It's not one of his more dangerous experiments, but you can never be too careful.

Certainly, it's one of his favorites.

"If you'll just take that and add it to this beaker..."

Dean's hands visibly shake before forcibly steadying himself. In his grasp is a thin test tube filled with a dark, richly brown liquid, bubbling and fizzing menacingly. It would be a disaster if he spilled it now. Luckily, he manages to bring it over to the receptacle and add it in, tapping it gently against the rim to get the last few drops out.

"Now, we just add a pinch of this—"

Rusty tips a small measuring cup's worth of white powder — much more than a pinch — and upends the entire thing into the beaker, then swirls it around a bit to ensure an even distribution. Both of them then recede a little, as if expecting some great explosion.

Nothing.

Dean's body settles with the release of tension, smiling up at him at the sign of a successful experiment. Rusty smiles back, satisfied — and proud of his son.

Then, in one smooth movement, he picks up the mixture, tips his head back, and takes a long swig.

"And that's how you make cherry coke."

He winces, putting it back down over the deactivated Bensen burner. "It's better chilled."

Summary: After some unexpected recent developments on Steven Universe, I found myself trying to piece together my thoughts in hindsight.  Most (but not all!) of these will be focusing on Lars and the humans.   Sorry.  In my excuse, we're in Season 5 and I have thoughts.

First chapter is a spoiler-heavy table of contents.

Right now it contains 40 meta of varying length (with another 30 on the way).  Be warned that some were written before Stranded aired and are severely out of date.
