Lacasse got carded for a dive and it was a very obvious dive too: https://psvvandearsenal.tumblr.com/post/676996568727109632/better-diver-than-tom-daley
😂
Good on the ref for carding her then!
As the girl behind me said "how embarrassing to get a yellow for a dive" 😅
Well that was a fun game - Canada really came back into it in the second half and were threatening for a goal but couldn't quite do it. Spain weren't as in control but with the number of subs it's not such a surprise.
Couldn't really see from where I was sitting but did one of the Canadians get carded for a dive? That's what people around me thought but we weren't sure, and was Vilda carded too?
Makes it all very interesting going into the last game - everything to play for, will England or Spain get the cup?
It was a small crowd (kick off time and poor advertising have a lot to answer for) but it was an engaged one and even had a couple of chants of "Let's go Canada" and "We love you Spain, we do" going back and forth. Enjoyed the commentary from the girl behind me with her dad and the little boy who shouted "Go Spain" when someone else yelled "Go Canada" and so was delighted when they scored soon after.
Looking forward to the game tonight, waiting for my friend to join me after her day at work - it's gonna be a cold one but hopefully it'll be a good crowd and a great game.
Currently defrosting in a pub...
Yes Vilda was carded too! Not sure what for specifically, and I wonder if his card counts towards the disciplinary tally determining the cup winner if England win 1-0? Or is it even by one goal (2-1 etc)?
I think his card counts towards the team's total cards - currently Spain have 5 and England have 2 so if England win by 1-0 but with 0-2 cards they win the cup. But frankly anything could happen and Germany may well beat us (or we could get lots of cards!) - it'll be fun to see how it all plays out.
Intrigued as to why Vilda got the card, presumably he was complaining about the reffing or something.
