oogh I wanna hear your thoughts on Woodman!
OUGH WOOD MAN........ I have a few thoughts about him....
Truthfully I'm not as big a fan of Wood as some of the other Wilybots. He's never really appealed to me the way the red bastards do (but I do like him!!). At the same time, though, it's one of those things I can definitely say is a consequence of the canon I'm looking at. As many folks probably know, I'm more Ariga!Verse oriented, and taking a look at Classic/Archie Wood, with his round, calm vibes that I can only describe as incredibly shaped, and comparing him to Ariga!Wood, with his narrow eyes and honestly... slow personality, makes me feel that there's like. They're not the same. That's not the same character. I read Archie!Wood and Ariga!Wood in entirely different voices in my head.
And that's not a bad thing! Megamix is both an adaptation and alternate universe, so it really makes sense, actually. But I can also say that I much prefer Archie's interpretation of him, because of this difference.
My own interpretation of Wood would honestly be a bit of a combination of both, in a sense? Taking Ariga!Wood's base but mellowing him out, making him calmer, more sensible and stoic, closer to Archie!Wood. He would still have an ample amount of the... I don't know what to call it. It's not quite sadism. Militaristic and aggressive energy, I guess?? That the Seconds all share in the Ariga!Verse. He's just better at setting it aside when not needed than some of his brothers. Definitely not someone I consider a leader for the Seconds, though, nor really much of a shoulder to lean on. I consider Metal the leader, and Air the shoulder, actually. Wood honestly strikes me as the type to look at his brothers weirdly and tell them to piss off, if they start complaining and bickering, before he steps in and cracks their skulls together SFDLGKJHSFDLKJHFS
Again my thoughts mostly coincide with the Ariga!Verse so apologies for the folks more comfortable with Archie and/or Classic canon -v-;
