Centaur Rookies Headcanons!
Hello have some rookie shenanigans because you will never take my headcanons away from me. If you’re interested in my hcs for their names/appearances, I made a separate post for that.
They have THE MOST competitive board game nights. I’m talking uno is mentioned and shit hits the wall. One time at a Bood BBQ they play monopoly and Luca does not get a chance to inform them that it’s banned before a table gets flipped and Holmberg and LaPointe have literally tackled eachother to the floor… yeah they don’t get to pick the games anymore
Lapointe and Holmberg would be roomates year after rookie year (I like to imagine they all billet with vets their first year) and they have an arcade in their house, complete with air hockey and table tennis. It gets about as competitive as you can imagine
Speaking of housing Lapointe and Holmberg (and young) would be really bad at keeping spaces clean. Not like growing stains everywhere and it’s nasty bad (although there have been a fair few food experiments done in that fridge), but Luca, having grown up in a household of sisters that forced him to learn his shit basically mothers them all into learning how to house maid after Wyatt nearly has a heart attack seeing their place. (“Young I taught you better than this” “It isn’t even my house!!”)
It is important to note that Luca is the mom, the cool older cousin, the bratty little brother and the whiny youngest child of the group, and yes those last two things are seperate
The rookies have twitch accounts and they honest to god would gain a lot of fans that aren’t even into hockey they just find them hilarious
Luca paints them all matching jean jackets with their numbers and customizations for them to wear out to team events (I just love the idea of Luca painting clothes)
As they grow up in the league, people in the centaurs still will forever call them ‘the rooks’. When new batches of rookies come in they call them ‘baby rooks’ or like ‘junior rooks’, something stupid because they will never be THE rooks.
During the offseason they trade whose hometown/country they visit. After their first year they do a road trip across Canada to visit where LaPointe and Young are from, and they only hit one tree and ran out of gas twice, so yk overall it was a success. Luca does insist when they go travel Europe next summer though that Holmberg is not getting anywhere near the steering wheel.
They always do ridiculous group Halloween costumes. Their best one is all dressing up as playboy bunnies (courtesy of Luca’s nickname), though close behind is dressing up as smurfs, and yes this included blue face paint. They all did have some residual paint stains on them when they played a few days later.
As much as they are all barely adult idiots, they are also sweet and deeply care for eachother. So they like to take turns learning eachothers hobbies. Luca takes them all to a painting class (with honestly pretty impressive results), Young teaches them how to crochet, Holmberg teaches them how to not set things on fire in the kitchen (yes as idiotic as he is he’d be a great cook) and LaPointe introduces them to the concept of audio books. This then starts a great debate on romance vs mystery novels (luca and young end up on the floor this time) and thus book club begins
They are the definition of ‘if anything leaves the gc we’re all dead’
Very much a ‘you got a problem with one of us you got a problem with all of us mentality’ and this goes about as well as you’d expect on the ice. There was once when Luca and Lapointe both got suspended for defending Young, and the only reason Holmberg didn’t get in on it was cause he was physically held back on the bench.
Holmberg and LaPointe have faked dating so they can all get in on like those ‘date night’ deals with Luca and Young. They aren’t even being stingy they just think it’s really funny
