It was a time of fearful elation when I took the leap of faith to practise theatre full-time. Spider and Tiger marks my first community touring forum theatre piece with Drama Box, where I was made to wear a very fitting Singapore Girl style batik dress.” – Oliver Chong, director and performer of Every Brilliant Thing • Individuals grow and change with the tides of time. CITIZEN X: Interview with @esplanadesingapore . Posted @withregram • @esplanadesingapore 3/6 – Seeing Double: Liu Xiaoyi (L) and Oliver Chong (R) • “Describe how you work as co-creators after three installments of the Citizen trilogy.” Oliver: “We don't need to divide the work into parts and create separately before piecing them together. Because we have adapted to each other as friends, and on a deep personal level. I guess the challenge is in negotiating our schedules.” Xiaoyi: “Although we're very different creators, we can accommodate and challenge each other in the process, and help each other to make progress. I've always believed that dialogue and reflection are the most precious parts of a creation and a creator, and this is true for the Citizen Series.
