The Jedi Knight takes a stand
(Corellan’s expression here, though. He’s asking to be meme’d.)
I don’t hate Asara for feeling this way. Heck, in general, she might be right.
Here, of course, she’s wrong. There are no negative consequences for saving the engineering crew. Which is a recurring theme for most of the game. About 95 percent of the time, there are equal of superior consequences to taking the light-side choice. In fact, a lot of dark-side choices are objectively foolish. Many even result in the needless deaths of companions. The exceptions where going DS makes your life easier are rare. (Like if you keep Dramath in his holocron, keeping him for the Vaylin fight.)
Maybe SWTOR would be more realistic if they made you pay for playing the paragon. I dunno.
Asara is an example of what happens when fundamentally decent people spend far too long fighting a war. It changes people. Warps them. They start justifying the most ridiculous things.
I love that Corellan takes the paragon stand in the face of it though. It sets up basically every other decision he makes in the story.
We don’t. Compromise. Our principles. Period.
(I still can’t get over that expression on his face.)
