MICK SCHUMACHER and ESTEBAN OCON swap helmets (x)
’When he said she would be seeing him more often, he had meant it. Raphael had asked him to keep on eye on her and he never broke a promise. It wasn’t that he didn’t t want to be around Esti, if not for the fact that she had broken his heart all of those years ago, he did really like her as a person. She was fun to be around and well, he could admit she was still easy on the eyes. But combine their past with the fact that this was work and it wasn’t the best situation. But he would buck up and do it with a smile on his face, because he realized last time that his attitude hurt her a little. Part of him wanted to be vindictive and say good, she deserved it. But he couldn’t do that. Not to her.
When he had heard her mention that she wanted to go out with her cast mates, he had suggested LUX, with the promise of free alcohol and well, whatever else their hearts desired, it was easy for them all to agree. Esti, he figured, reluctantly. But then, he could keep an eye on her on his own turf. She was somewhere near the dance floor, and he was carrying two drinks, one for both of them, towards her, stopping to talk to a patron who, of course just stopped him to hit on him. He turned them down gently before finding his spot next to her, handing over her drink “your drink, darling” he said, leaning against a pillar and raising an eyebrow, taking a drink from his glass “enjoying yourself? @esti-cohen
He’s at Lux when he gets the call. He’s promised to lean off of keeping an eye on Esther himself, to fix their friendship, so Manny is taking care of it tonight. He’s watching over the club for the night, since Indya said she had a shoot she couldn’t turn down. He’s not tending bar though, instead, he’s standing over the balcony, drink in hand, gaze flitting over the crowd for anything out of turn. The Brittanies proposition him and he apologizes but turns them down. A waitress tops off his drink every once in a while and he even considers dropping in just to play a song or two. It has been a while since he’s done that and he sometimes misses playing for a crowd.
He’s begins to head for the stairs to lead him to the main floor when his phone goes off in his pocket. He answers it immediately, kind of has to between his lines of work and a pregnant girlfriend. Blood rushes to his ears at the voice on the other end of the line, Manny, panicked the words “Esti” and “gone” come out of his mouth and Elias’ stomach sinks, because he knows that if this is just Esther blowing them off Manny wouldn’t be this panicked, wouldn’t be calling him, would’ve found her. He can’t panic. No, instead he advises Manny to stay put, keep an eye out, maybe it’s a misunderstanding, and all the while he’s heading back up the stairs, towards the elevator, into the garage. He hangs up on Manny just as he starts up the corvette, peeling out of the garage and onto the streets. He yells at his phone to call Esther, and it does, the speaker letting him know that her phone is turned off and he tries again, and again, and again before he throws the thing at the ground and slams his hands against the steering wheel. “Fuck, fuck” he screams into the night air. He begged her to trust him, and so now, if something happens. He can’t think about it, he can’t think about that. @esti-cohen

“Honey you're familiar like my mirror years ago Idealism sits prison, chivalry fell on it's sword Innocence died screaming, honey ask me I should know I slithered here from Eden just to sit outside your door.
Babe, there's something wretched about this Something so precious about this Oh what a sin.”
