After several months, I finally returned to this one and got it finished. Kaz, trees, blue amber beads, and an iris. Just about everything that could sum up the Estsabuya series, quite honestly. Now - back to working on the second book. I’m 75K words in and hoping to finish in three to four more months.

Honestly, this painting was originally intended to be colored, but the black and white grew on me as I worked on his face, and my general interest in finishing this painting took a nosedive about a month ago. I decided to finish it up this weekend because I was trying to avoid my current WIP. If it wasn’t for my procrastination with my other painting, this one would probably still be sitting in my unfinished folder, so yay, procrastination! (Not really...)

This is my most accurate rendering of Scott’s features to date, though, so that’s worth something.

A reference photo was used for the hand. I took a picture of my own. Oh, and blue amber from my own collection was used as reference on the texture/lighting on the pendant.

Okay, I’m back, maybe. I might as well update with the few paintings I finished. This one’s just a quick sketch of Keona I did one Saturday, about a month ago maybe...

And an even quicker sketch of Ire that I did about a week after the above. I debated sharing this one because it’s incredibly sloppy, but here it goes.
