Manchester United Youth Prospect Ethan Laird has joined Bournemouth for the remainder of the EFL Championship season. The young Right Back has spent the last 6 months on loan at another Championship, Swansea City. However, the move to Bournemouth places Laird amongst a squad of players that will be Premier League players next season, barring an utter collapse by Scott Parker's side.
Hopefully Laird will sharpen his skills and return to United prepared to challenge Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot for a starting position at Manchester United.

Solksjaer Equals Busby Record
During United 2-1 win against LASK, Solksjaer equaled a record that has stood for 67 years.
Defender Teden Mengi came on during the final 10 minutes of the match to be the 8th young homegrown player to be introduced for a debut and to help equal the record set by Sir Matt Busby. Solksjaer has often called on youth players during United’s run in the Europa League. During United’s match against Astana back in November he used a total of 6 youth players. Di’Shon Bernard, Ethan Laird, and Dylan Levitt all got a start while Ethan Gailbraith, Largie Ramanzani, and D’Mani Mellor were used as substitutes during the second half. Brandon Williams was the first youth player to get a start under Solksjear during United’s Carabao Cup match against Rochdale in September of last year. Williams also recently signed a new long term contract that will keep him at United until 2024 with the option to extended for a further year.
Young, homegrown players are classified as those who have played for the clubs U-18s or youth-equivalent team. The last manager feature so many young. homegrown players in the same season was Busby in the 1952/1953 season. He gave John Doherty, Duncan Edwards, Bill Foulkes, Eddie Lewis, Les Olive, David Pegg, Jackie Scott, and Dennis Viollet a run-out in the first team.
Sir Alex promoted 6 youth players on four separate occasions (94/95, 97/98, 99/00, and 11/12), Van Gaal promoted 6 (Andreas Pereira, Tyler Blackett, Reece James, Jesse Lingard, Paddy McNair, and Tom Thorpe), and Mourinho also promoted six players including current first team players Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe.
