Princeton researchers built a 3D device that connects living brain cells with tiny electronics. The chip held about 70,000 neurons on a flexible 3D mesh and learned to recognize simple electrical patterns. Scientists hope this could help future biocomputers use less energy and help researchers study brain diseases.
