*deep sigh* Wow.. I just.. I really am at a loss for words right now. If my parents weren't home right now, I'd be crying my little eyes out. This movie is definitely being added to my list of favourite movies. That was breathtakingly beautiful in so many ways that I cannot describe. I really, really want to cry right now and I am trying unbearably hard not to. ;_; I even watched through all the credits just to see if they had a little blurb about what happened to the boys, but unfortunately, nothing. It was just so.. DEAR MAKER. I really wish I could form a coherent sentence right now, but just believe me when I say it was beautiful. Ethan was such a complex and well performed character and Remigio was just the topping on the cake. What really had me fall in love instantly was in the beginning of the movie when I heard Ethan's voice. Even though I had to wait until the end of the movie for a kiss, it was worth it. That entire movie was worth it. I can't believe that I haven't heard of/seen this movie sooner. seklmfslemfkls. I can talk ALL DAY about how much I genuinely, genuinely, am in love with this movie. Remigio's love for Ethan and his blatantly oblivious nature was just so realistic and reeled me in more and more as the movie progressed. The way that him and his family began bonding, despite the situation they were positioned in, was amazing and had me smiling uncontrollably. It was like they were a real family and they finally accepted Ethan. All of the characters were just SO amazing and the actors really made it all that much better. Despite the ending, I am still thoroughly satisfied with this movie which is more than I can say about a lot of others. I really just wish they would have added something at the end that informed the viewers of what happened, but I understand why that didn't occur. Screen writers prefer leaving an open ending that is free for interpretation and, in this case, they did a FLAWLESS job at it. Normally, I hate film conclusions that don't actually possess a clear ending, but they did such a good job in this that I really cannot complain.
See? Didn't I tell you I could ramble on and on about this movie? I'm glad I have it downloaded because I will be re-watching it in the future. This and Love of Siam have become my favourites when it comes to gay Asian films. Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to do some stalking on Ethan Mao's actor whom, after watching the credits, is named Jun Hee Lee.
