Shan ren band Drink song 山人乐队 酒歌 (by 10poleR) Shanren, from Kunming, China. The name translates to Mountain Men. This is one of the band's more famous tunes, Drinking Song. It's a good example of their ethnic sound, but I have also seen a clip them playing heavy metal! (the video sound was too distorted, otherwise I would post it.) I believe the band now have 2 albums, the self-titled debut from 2009, and a new one (to be) released 2012. Drinking Song (translation): Hey brother, bottom up Hey sister, bottom up No matter if you like it or not, you have to drink You don't like it, you still have to drink No matter if you like it or not, you have to drink Lots of photos and songs to be found on their Shanren facebook. Shanren 2012 North American Tour (by MusicDishTV) Happened across a post on MusicDish TV facebook about the Chinese band Shanren using crowd funding (RocketHub) to sponsor their tour of America, which took place this spring. Shanren describe themselves as "Chinese Ethnic Reggae Rock Fusion", and it's a unique sound, with traditional ethnic instruments sharing the stage with the more typical guitar/drums/bass of a rock band.
