New outfits for my kids !
Thought I was done image dumping but forgot one, lol. Ethyr, Kandron, and Serivar going on an adventure through a gross damp Skyrim-esque cave.
I haven’t touched ESO again but since they threw a bunch of ELVES in my face it got me thinking about my elves. I mean technically the Bislari are aliens but they’re literally just damn elves. Ethyr here arguably isn’t a dunmer or a drow, but I tag him as such because it’s what I’m going for. I drew him in some dark elf armor to see how it fits him. His response: “It’s alright. Kind of stiff. Can I go now?”
I think the high collar and shoulderpads look okay on him, honestly.
Did some ESO-inspired armor for Ethyr that actually matches his culture’s aesthetic. Lightsider Bislari use a lot of orange and yellow. It occurred to me that while I’ve posted every Ethyr related art to this blog, there’s a lot of text that only showed up in other places. Well all the official written lore for Ethyr is on his Rane Story cards which I have mirrored on my DA. 1, 2, 3, 4.
He started out as a single note backgrounder meant to fill a classmate role and be a friend of Mistaire’s from before she came to Earth. But of course I always make side characters that I really like and then have to give them more substance.
Originally Ethyr was the focal point of a throwaway love triangle between Mistaire and Tesmaula, with the point of the plot being that Mistaire dropped the entire love triangle when she left school. So one day she’d return and see her old boyfriend dating her rival and realize she doesn’t care because she has new friends. The more I developed Ethyr and Tesmaula the more I realized they were better characters without that angle. So maybe they’re all just friends. (also I don’t think Ethyr is even interested in girls)
I keep a broad collection of common, uncommon, and rare OC boys on hand, alternating between them to keep the metagame fresh. Have a rare boy. Comes in both Student and Teacher editions. Ethyr has a lot of potential but he’s a third string support character so the odds of giving him a full story are low. I’m really satisfied with his color scheme. The dark elf skintone was challenging for my usual go-to color picks but it wound up working out good.
I might make some adjustments to that shadow Ethyr is casting, it’s too vague.
