@etienneulven location: thee room (their room uwu), Caer Glas Keep notes: he's shirtless and looking out the window in the middle of the night
Moonlight streamed through the window as Alucard took his place against the cold stone, gaze fixed to the North as he contemplated - as he often did - what was waiting for him beyond the distant mountains. A gnarled root comprised of equal parts certainty and trepidation had tied itself firmly in his gut, while Alucard appeared as still as ever, returning to Lysara did not come without the glaring understanding that he'd been denying for years. His father's fate was tied to his own and no amount of running would change the inevitable. Alucard would kill Vlad Drakul or die in the process.
A stirring from the coffin behind him drew Alucard's focus from the Deadlands ahead to the wolf he'd left in their death bed. It wasn't the same as sleeping with the lid closed, but Alucard was of the mind that the two would work up to it, eventually.
The night settled somewhere far between sundown and sunrise and with the dark's firm grip on the Keep, Alucard settled into the shadows. Illuminated by the shaft of pale light as still, red eyes watched Etienne stir from the pile of blankets and furs.
Through the long shadows his frame cast from his stance at the window, Alucard asked, "Did I wake you?"
