Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) is an English proficiency test for students applying for education in foreign universities. This exam is mostly accepted in Canadian and American universities. Frequently, the TOEFL requirement may be dropped, although this is completely up to the university administration. The Test of English as a Foreign Language, or TOEFL in its full name, is administered by Educational Testing Services (ETS), which is also in charge of administering the TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) exam and issuing score reports to all test takers.
