art progress 2020: august-december
August: image of a small room. my first attempt at drawing something like this. it’s messy but i liked doing this. i think i’ll do more of this going into 2021
September: pink diamond and rose quartz from steven universe. i don’t remember much, if anything, about drawing this other than i have a lot of complicated emotions and thoughts towards this character
October: etsuko from the rooks, another of my original books. etsuko started as a bnha oc 🙈. it’s...very sketchy but i couldn’t find another piece of art from october at all
November: same as october, except...i didn’t really draw anything at all in november, so i pulled a picture from the beginning of december instead. so! one of my character’s adoptive father holding his pet parrot. i had fun with it
December #1: a sketchy portrait of satou kana, the adoptive mother of one of my characters.
December #2: satou masako, the adoptive sister of one of my characters. i really like how she turned out.
December #3: satou daisuke, the man holding the parrot in the ‘november’ picture and the husband of kana. i want to go back and shade this one alongside kana’s.
i didn’t draw that much in the second half of 2020- between my art tablet going missing and just being bombarded by work and life stuff and personal identity crisis, i wrote more than i drew. i discovered that drawing straight hair is really fucking hard and also that i missed the ability to have pressure and varying line widths in my digital art that i had with the free school photoshop after they took it away from us in september. with the exception of a few sketches i didn’t include here bc of poor resolution and a few finished pieces that i hate lol, this is pretty much everything.
