Poppa George is attempting to make a vase out of ashwood but make it so thin that you can place light inside and it virtually a dark lamp. This is his text to me, "
“Visions of Fire”
This a vase that I started several days ago. My thoughts on this piece was to turn a vase out of Ash that was thin enough to be translucent at night when lighted from the inside so that it would look like it was on Fire. As I was cleaning up the inside bottom of the vase my turning tool caught on the wood and with the resulting force kicked the tool over into the side of the vase destroying it. No two will ever be alike but I will try this again !!!
Vase was 6” in diameter, 10” tall and turned out of Ash.

I have no doubt Poppa George will make this happen. Once he finds something that he cant make happen the first time he's on it until it's completed. I'll keep everyone in our community updated. He has been carving several fish that have been commissioned during the day so he just works on his creations in the evening. I don't know about yall but I'm excited to see his first final piece!!!💕😊😁
