literally i cannot take any critique on cody. cody is perfect and he has done nothing wrong in his life.
no because it really feels insidious to me that these clones have been whitewashed even more & appearing paler than the other clones while being viewed as superior because of genetic mutations that lead to enhancements in certain abilities. it leaves a bad taste in my mouth and really jades my vision of the series (especially if these designs and coloring were made intentionally, to signify their differences, them being "better").
cody literally did one thing that wasn't pleasing to fans and it wasn't even in his control and people want to demonize him and turn him into a villain over an action he had no control over. and his redepmtion is dependent upon obi-wan and it would be all about his arc and how he would be such a great person for forgiving cody. meanwhile we wouldn't see any consequences for obi-wan and how he treated cody and his brothers that served under him and paint him so much as a war hero that sacrificed so much. when even the barest minimum of the potential of cody appearing again, its always as an atagonist and a traitor that has no redeemable qualities. i hate this fandom so much.
mace windu is a vastly complex character who is interesting in his personality and his motives but most of the fandom wants to diminish him to his relationship with anakin and portray him in a negative light. did mace have flaws? he definitely did, but the demonization of his character in favor of a character who literally mass murdered thousands of people is ridiculous.
i headcanon that while fox was very adherent to the law and very devoted to his job and tough on criminals, he was actually quite lenient with the street kids and orphans that undoubtedly ran amongst the levels of coruscant, who did very little harm save for some rough horseplay and stealing from the ocassional rich person (on coruscant he quickly developed a distaste for the rich and powerful — he thought it as karma and what they deserved). of course there would be the ocassional warning, as so neither himself nor the kids would be caught, but he never really arrested them and even offered rations and sometimes a bed for the night if they were truly desperate (he couldn't keep them all, but he did his best). he also was very sympathetic to the poor and downtrodden and did his best to help them when he had the time (such as taking care of corrupt landlords, helping abuse survivors) and began thinking that it should really be them that he should be helping, the true citizens of the republic, and not the rich and corrupt people of the upper levels. soon his strong adherence and loyalty to the republic became nothing more than a facade and he really only stayed because of his fierce loyalty and love for his brothers. soon enough he and his brothers could escape the abuse and corruption of the republic and they could live their lives in freedom and helping others, or so that was what he had hoped.
