Im Eun-Seop appreciation post
I’m absolutely in love with his gentle soul and loving heart. But i also can’t stop thinking about how grateful I am to the showrunners for showing us such a great example of how differently people express their feelings, love particularly.
Eun-Seoul is a giver, he shows people important to him that he loves them by giving them things, for example:
- bugs to hold
- lovely scarfs he embroidered himself
- endless cups of coffee
- book recommendations
- a warm place to feel safe at in a form of a bookstore
- a place to sleep when you need one
- a pair of shoes
- a new expensive bike saddle
And many many more probably.
And the thing I love the most about it is that he’s unable to say the words ‘I love you’ but it doesn’t matter. His mom worries a bit about it but if you put it in the perspective I think he showed her many times that he does in fact love her and her husband and Hwi especially. The scenes where it was shown how their small family functioned together were my favorite. His adoptive father taking him in, his mother bathing him accepting him into the family, even though they were already pregnant. They loved him vey much and they always protected him (cue to his dad fighting with his friends after they said some awful things about his son). His relationship with Hwi was also so heartwarming. I just love them all so much.
Eun-Seop is an amazing character and honestly even if there was no romantic plot in the series I would still love to watch him just living his quiet life, learning to express his love and giving people the safe space to be themselves.
