January 18, 2025 - Orange-crowned Euphonia (Euphonia saturata) Found in parts of western Colombia and Ecuador and northwestern Peru, these euphonias live in and around forests and cultivated areas. Foraging in trees alone or in pairs, sometimes with other species, they likely eat small berries and other fruits, though the details of their diet are unknown. Females build globe-shaped nests with side entrances from grass, rootlets, bamboo leaves, and moss in plants growing on trees.
