Tisander Ophioneus Carrow was a loyal follower of Tom Riddle during their shared years at Hogwarts. Alongside his second cousins Narkissos and Liriope Carrow, Tisander served the Dark Lord faithfully, embracing the rising ideology of blood supremacy and lending his cunning, influence, and unwavering devotion to the growing circle that would one day become the first Death Eaters.
He was a man with a twisted mind, incapable of feeling any sort of genuine emotion beyond cruel amusement and obsessive ambition, regarding compassion as a weakness meant only for lesser beings. His presence was unnervingly hollow — calm and refined on the surface, yet hiding a cold brutality that surfaced without warning. There had never been a time where Tisander felt remorse for any of the atrocities he committed, finding enjoyment in "purifying" the magical world of the filthy vermin that were scattered across the wizarding community.
In 1953, Tisander's half-brother had gifted him Eurypyle Carrow, his niece — who was a year his senior. The two married, though Carrow didn't express much interest in his bride, which was good in a sense as it spared Eurypyle from having to visit the marital bed often. Not long after their union was made official, Tisander became the father of Amycus and Alecto Carrow, who both inherited his diseased mind.
Later in life, Carrow was suspected of having played a leading role in the death of his wife. In truth, Tisander was not the one who killed Eurypyle, though the identity of her murderer was never uncovered. Three years after her death, in 1975, Tisander himself was found dead in his study by a house-elf, poisoned by a substance that had been slipped into his drink.
