Abuela Golden Halo knew how much media impacts people. What is pushed to you is what you connect to. So moving to the US as an immigrant where "everyone is free" and seeing a whole bunch of just...basic white, blonde, blue eyed actors and characters? When little boys and girls growing up in the US because their family wanted the best for them? And they see little to no representation? It doesn't feel great. So she wanted to truly help incorporate the impossible reality of freedom, equality, and rights to everyone in the US, specifically immigrants, and wanted to add representation for others in their media. Ergo, her idea: Golden Halo
