Now we just have to wait for the next phase, when American car companies will lose influence in the car markets of other countries...

P.S. Now, I am driving a Chinese made electric car: it looks nice; rides well; it has a good price; good range; and LFP battery...; no expensive Russian gasoline; no Russian expensive diesel, no Russian LPG; no VW Tiguan, ... NO PROBLEMS...!!!

And, you don't need an overly expensive Tesla to drive long distances on electricity as well...!!!

And if it weren't for those stupid tariffs, you wouldn't need subsidies for electric car buyers in Western Europe either.

The rest of the Europeans have to answer a simple question: is it worth paying an exorbitant price for electric cars because of tariffs imposed on them just to save the inefficient management of VW and the oil companies that mostly sell imported oil from Russia, Arab countries and other not-so-good places...!?

German car manufacturers and politicians can only blame themselves for their problems!

It's not China's problem, nor my problem, that German car manufacturing is technically backward and their politicians have been corrupted by Russian fossil fuel traders...

Production of the Leapmotor T03 has begun at the Stellantis plant in Poland. Second model, the A12, to follow in 2025.

World’s first commercial sodium-ion battery production line goes live

First sodium-ion battery has rolled off the production line in China and pipped both BYD and CATL to the post.

Batteries manufactured by HiNa have an energy density of 145 Wh/kg and can endure 4,500 cycles. The next stage aims at 8,000 to 10,000 cycles and up to 200 Wh/kg energy density, according to the company(..)

CATL unveiled its own sodium-ion battery back in 2021 with an energy density of 160 Wh/kg and its next generation battery cell is supposed to exceed 200 Wh/kg. The company is planning to begin commercialization of its product from next year.BYD has more solid plans when it comes to its own sodium batteries, the company has been reported that it is to start manufacturing of the new sodium-ion cells in the second quarter of next year. The real reason why this news is important is that rare earth materials are critical to making the permanent magnets that are an essential component of the electric motors that the transition to an emissions free economy depends upon.

The sticking point is that China, with it predilection for dominating so many of the manufacturing processes for making electric vehicles, solar panels, and other critical technologies needed to address an overheating planet, controls over 80% of the world market for rare earth elements.

We know the danger of allowing tyrants in Saudi Arabia and Russia to control our access to fossil fuels. That experience suggests letting China be the gatekeeper for the new technologies we need to transfer away from relying on fossil fuels may be similarly fraught with danger in the future(..)

P.S. A very interesting discovery! It can be very useful to get rid of China's monopoly…
