Evaluation=Secrets
The tasks that were given to us to complete were varied through different work sheets, we did theory research such as, knowing different types of genres, generic convention mind maps, stereotyping and genres, learning new key words within the topic of narratives, doing research for out short film on what we will be doing and what we came up with on our own and as a team. A variety of mind maps done to make work simpler, audience profiling, to get an accurate reading of what we will be doing for our short film. Key words I can give you are demographic and psycho-graphic. Working in a team to try and create something unique. We did a group profile to get to know people better in our groups. We did surveys on survey monkey to make sure what we edit will be enjoyable for the audience, saw the results to and took the notes people had to say on board. Throughout all of this we did a mixture of primary and secondary research. Primary research is your own findings and secondary is using stuff such as, surveys, graphs, etc.
Although we couldn’t get away from the health and safety though, so we filled our forms which allowed the group I am apart of to film in a specific location and to make sure we will be safe there. We did our proposal for why we thought we should do this genre within this theme. Creating storyboards to visualize what we are aiming towards. Doing research on what makes a good film and how to exceed this such as the technicality, the storytelling and the fashion wear we will be choosing. Doing audio research to make sure what we were doing was going to legitimate.
We were asked to produce a short film within the theme of ‘Secrets’ and the reason for this was for us to get a better understanding of what will to come if we choose to further the education of video production. We chose our idea by conjuring up thoughts of what genres we all liked and tried to think of something that clusters everything together. For our video production research we went on ‘short of the week’ and analysed the films we selected. Learning about different camera shots, such as, panning, Dutch, long, mid, establishing and close ups. Doing health and safety forms as well, etc.
The research we did made an impact on our overall work because it’s helped us gain a better understanding of what we will be doing for future productions.
The demographics for this film are for all genders, the age is a 12A, and for all religious people to watch. The psychographic parts of this short film are for people who love drama and mystery, targeted towards teenagers and students in university or college.
When sharing ideas and coning together as a group we did pretty well, when someone had an idea we always considered it and took an approach with the ideas. When creating our short film I wanted everyone to feel as though their voice matters and comfortable around one another. When rehearsing we made sure that everyone was alright and we asked each other if we wanted to swap roles just to let people try new roles for future productions.
The software we used to complete our edited short film was ‘Adobe Premier Pro 2019′. I feel that my strengths within the whole project are my editing skills as I am getting more confident with the use of adobe premier pro 2019, I am learning new skills that I haven’t learned before and I am memorizing everything that I have been taught.
I feel that my weaknesses within the whole project was putting the tripod up and in the correct way, so when i do my next project within video production i shall be reassuring myself on how to use the tripod.
The new skills I have learned during this assignment was the transitions, such as ‘dip to black’ and ‘dip to white’. How to change the color from ‘color’ to ‘black and white’. Also, learning video production all together because it is a new skill to me and it has shown me that i want to progress further in the world of video production.
The parts I enjoyed the most were all of it because everything was so different and new to me that I enjoyed it all. The feedback I got from my piers were that they were impressed and thought that i did well, they were most pleased with the flashback sequence, as it really captured the essence of childhood.
I would like to improve on my confidence within the whole project as i feel once i have confidence the project will all fall into place.
