Hey everyone! My name is Evan Arita. I am a senior at UH West Oahu and this is my fifth and last year as well as my final semester. I am currently trying to get my Bachelors degree in Creative Media in the Video Game Design concentration. My research topic for my Senior Project is the Role of Character Design in Video Game Storytelling. Discovering how the design of a video game character can affect how the story goes in a video game, looking over the methods in designing characters, and learning about the challenges character designers might face in future and the present are some of the big parts of my research that can be worth sharing with others. By doing this project I could potentially help people who are designing characters improve the way they design characters. How I hope my research will help me is that I can vastly improve my skills in character designing and eventually make my designs meaningful in a game story if one day my designs are used in a video game. My greatest hope after graduating college is to eventually find a position where I can design characters for video games and even design video games myself too, using my own characters and stories.
