Evan Davis is a BBC TV presenter and journalist with significant economic experience. He began his career as an economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies before moving to the London Business School where he began writing articles for the publication there. He then joined the BBC in 1993 as an economics correspondent before becoming the economics editor for ‘Newsnight’.
As the title suggests, Davis covers everything that was or is made in Britain whether that’s defence (rather controversially) or pharmaceuticals or even education. Believe it or not, education is one of our exports that we should be most proud of as we boast some of the best universities in the world and attract many overseas students.
Push your way through the harder to read first pages of this book and you’ll be rewarded with an interesting simplification of the complexities of British industry. I found this to be a worthwhile read, and would particularly recommend it to those who have begun to doubt modern Britain and what it produces.
