Jinyoung holds the soft bundle wrapped up in an unseasonably thick knitted scarf closer to his chest, hearing the soft mewls and purrs of the creature as if they were reverberating through his own chest. He presses his lips together and ducks his head even further, running his fingers over the delicate fur of its nose almost instinctively. Glancing around furtively, he spots a woman off to the side of street, key in her hands and jiggling lightly at a doorknob. Despite his terrible reflexes, he crosses over to her in a second and holds up the bundle to her with wide, pleading eyes, “I — I found him by the side of my apartment building in a box, all alone. I have a goldfish who would feel very betrayed if I brought him home. He’s really quiet — and sweet — likes long walks to the kitchen and a comfy place to sleep. I think he’s a gemini — I don’t know. he’s pretty small. Please love him.”
