What does it mean to be an accepting and open school for LGBTQ+ youth? It means looking at the problems our youth face and tackling them head on. Here are three (important, but not so easy) things we can do together: - Eliminate vocabulary that is harmful and derogatory and using progressive and positive language to enforce support of our vulnerable populations. - Find out why students are uncomfortable or unsafe in our school environments. If our LGBTQ+ youth miss school time due to harassment and bullying, they can suffer in their studies and development. - Eliminate bullying and harassment in schools. Call out students or teachers who pick on LGBTQ+ youth due to their expression of self. Double down on support of the youth and make it clear that you do not tolerate these harmful behaviors. Together we can make Evansville a safe and inclusive place for all. #EvansvillePride #BASEvansville #LGBTQ #Schools #EvansvilleWI https://www.instagram.com/p/CC8tkobAMXf/?igshid=114ezwcbdni24
