currently writing something about prefame early 90s secondary school liam set in manchester who doesn’t know how to properly get girls. he has no clue why the girls he asks out by basically yelling across the schoolyard in front of all his friends or who he tells to ‘dress up’ for their date but then takes to the noisiest pub never agree to a second date

then someone on tiktok reccomends finding emily, which i immediately go watch without knowing a thing abt it beforehand and: a. the male lead looks exactly like early 90s liam, b. it’s set in manchester, and c. he acts almost exactly like the liam in my fic (only a little less clueless but still very golden retriever). not only that but it is absolutely adorable and the cutest romcom i’ve seen in a hot minute. yeah sure it’s a little stereotype-y and there are some annoying bits but still!! spike fearn is worth it

bottom line: go watch finding emily. life changing
