Experimental EV Battery Can Charge Your Vehicle in 10 Minutes
Experimental EV Battery Can Charge Your Vehicle in 10 Minutes The technology of battery has finally reached the point that you can drive an electric car/vehicle without specific range stress, but you still got to plan ahead for charging it. Teslas, which replenish faster than other EVs, need about an hour to charge up fully at a SuperCharger. Researchers of Penn State University says it may be possible to create electric vehicle batteries that can charge in little as 10 minutes. The solution, apparently, is to turn up the heat. The standard set by the researchers for a sufficiently fast battery is about 200 miles of range in 10 minutes of charging. That is actually achievable without any superior new technology… as long as you do not mind the battery worsening after a handful of few charge cycles. The challenge is to build a high-capacity battery that can charge-up fast and can also maintain its full functionality for 2,500 cycles or more. When batteries charge too quickly, they form “battery plaque,” Read the full article
