I finished the 2nd book in Eve Calder's cookie house mystery series last night and can't wait to read the 3rd book in this series. I almost didn't read this based on a very negative review by a YouTuber I follow who didn't finish this book or the 3rd book but I am glad I read this book. I absolutely loved the mystery and the plot. A body is dug up by the town dog Oliver in Kate's tge backyard of her friend Maxi's business Flowers Maximus and at first everyone thinks it is the founder of Coral Cay the pirate Gentleman George Bly which couldn't happen at a better time than Pirate Week. Turns out it's not Gentleman George and thus the mystery of who is this buried in her friend's backyard and why her backyard? Plus Kate has to deal with her ex-fiancee who she just wants to go away. I found this mystery unique in there is no actual murder but rather a cold case. Many feel that if an actual murder doesn't take place then it's not really a mystery but solving a cold case is just as much a murder mystery.
