In November of last year, I signed up for the Franmaya and Narumitsu Minibang 2026, by @franmayanarumitsuminibang. Now it's finally posting time!
My contribution is a mostly canon compliant fic that focuses on Phoenix and Miles' relationship over the timeline of the series, which my event partners, @acexsual and @ari--arcaneorchid (Tumblr)/_arcane_orchid (Instagram), created art for.
The story focuses on the stuggles and challenges they have in their relationship during that time, often due to certain events in the series, and how they're able to navigate that and make it all work out.

Phoenix confronts his old friend, now locked away in prison, and soon learns that in a little over a year, his punishment—the death sentence—will be carried out.
Fully committed to saving Edgeworth, Phoenix focuses on finding a way to overturn his verdict before it’s too late. Between his efforts, he visits Edgeworth in prison every day, and over the course of their time spent together, over the course of the year, they grow closer.
But when unexpected issues arise, Phoenix may need to go to further lengths than he’d planned to change Edgeworth’s fate.

A couple days ago, I finished the messy draft version of Forever and Always chapter 2. I'm going to avoid looking at it for at least a week or two, and then start the draft where I actually attempt to word things nicely.
I think this chapter's going to end up pretty long, which is part of the reason it's taking a bit to get done (aside from not writing for a month). Really hoping I can have it ready to publish sometime next month. The following chapter shouldn't take nearly as long, at least.

In each of these stories, a canon event turns out differently. Directly or indirectly, these divergences lead to much more severe (and sometimes fatal) consequences for the characters than what we see in canon.
