OOC information -
Almost every year, throughout the summertime, Cardinal Hill hosts some sort of carnival, circus, or fun fair throughout the summertime. While it's not always run by the same people, or including the same things, most residents know to expect something exciting around this time of year.
The carnival hasn't made use of any of the locals professionally, which is to say that residents of Cardinal Hill / our played characters are unable to work any stalls or attractions.
Event interactions may begin immediately! As usual, event interactions are also encouraged to continue after the event's conclusion so that writers can finish threads.

ᴡʜᴇɴ: TRIBUTE INTERVIEWS
It had been a couple of days since the... incident at the TRIBUTE BALL. Although it had been replaying on a loop in Prue's mind ever since ( the sound of blade piercing soft skin, the gurgle of a dying man's throat, blood pooling quick and fast and sticky and wet ), so far, she hadn't been arrested – which she took as a good sign. She imagined if the Capitol knew about her and Danya's involvement in the little stunt, they'd both already have been made to disappear – executed or worse. She knew she should feel relieved about the fact that she was still healthy and breathing, but there was a lingering tension about her – baited breath as she waited for the other shoe to drop, if it ever did.
Instead of dwelling ( okay, she'd multitasked ), she had thrown herself into preparations for the interviews. Though her tributes weren't exactly particularly grateful for the work she'd put in, Prue thought she'd done a fairly decent job – especially considering she was a novice, and one whose entire role as a stylist was a lie, at that. Although her job is as good as over at this point, she still lingers backstage – peeking around the curtain to watch Theon's interview. She couldn't help but feel a pang of pity for the poor kid as she watched him onstage – she couldn't claim to know Caius particularly well, but she doubted he would be sticking his neck out to save his nephew when push came to shove.
Prue startles when she feels a hand on her shoulder – practically jumping out of her skin at the unexpected contact. She spins around to face the newcomer, eyes a little too wide and wild to be considered calm. "Sorry, hi," She whispers, offering a half-smile, "Let's move away from the stage, shall we?"

------HIS HANDS WERE antsy. places like this gave him the oddest sense of crushing darkness, despite the lights being clearly on, dimmed. it was the people, how many of them were packed together like sardines talking and galivanting and otherwise pretending everything in the world was alright. it took five minutes for redd to lift more than fifty bucks from a combined two people, wallets replaced in pockets with their owners none-the-wiser. he was skilled at surveying who was an easy mark, who wasn’t ... and she? was not an easy mark.
still, he stood beside her, pushed toward a table where glasses were being poured - he imagined they would switch from whatever they were serving to champagne once it drew closer to midnight. but for now ... for now he lifted one of the glasses from the table and offered it to his companion-by-circumstance as if they were old friends. as if he knew her. as if he’d always known her. perhaps she made him feel guilty, just her presence. he swallowed the feeling down in lieu of false comradery.

where: walking through the absolute chaos i remember this being when i was a freshman
The tables around Rory buzzed with chatter as overenthusiastic upperclassman handed flyers to wide-eyed freshman. She was feeling a little wide-eyed herself, trying to take in all of the chaos, and to decide which spots she wanted to stop at. Even with everything that had happened since Lux’s funeral, part of her was excited about this. It felt like there were so many opportunities laying before her- new friends, new clubs, and all of the college things she’d dreamed about back in high school. Sure, it wasn’t at her first choice university anymore, but that couldn’t dampen her enthusiasm.
Rory turned as she walked in an attempt to take it all in at once, but when she twirled back to face forwards she was nearly barreling into someone. It was close, but she just managed to catch herself and attempt a smooth recovery. “Oops, sorry,” she smiled at them brightly. “I was trying to look at everything, but I guess I should pick one thing at a time. “You got a pitch for me? Or are you along for the ride too?”

date: 10/15/1987 - 10/29/1987
location: SHRIKE HEIGHTS COMMUNE
ooc info - this is an annual event that has been running in shrike heights for generations, originally run by the farmers who lived in the fields on the outskirts of town, but now run by the hippie commune who occupy the same land and grow myriads of vegetables/fruits/crops etc. due to the length of the event it is typically casual and not the biggest deal for residents, though it can be quite exciting to some, and can be a good opportunity for some muses to sell their own goods ( which you're free to have your muse do if you please ). event interactions may begin immediately, though there is no pressure to participate or have event threads replace existing or other threads. please note that there will be no plot drop associated with this event, and there will be an additional separate event for halloween ( info coming soon ).

AJ glanced around the ballroom, everyone seemed to have already coupled up. Honestly, it was what he got for showing up to the mixer an hour late, but the nap had been worth it, and he thought a bunch of doctors who weren’t on call would be interested in living the night up a bit. He took another sip of his scotch and spotted a blonde across the way. Perfect. AJ gave her the once over before striding across towards the cocktail table where she was standing.
“Good evening. AJ Murphy. General. Seattle Grace,” he said before extending a hand to her. He noticed her glass empty. “Can I get you another?”
“Alright, this song goes out to the man of the hour whom you all know as just Cameron St. James, but who I know him as the guy who peed in Central Park during a St. James family picnic.” He paused as the crowd reacted. “Happy Birthday, bro. This ones for you. Oh-and the bathroom’s to the left in case you need it.” He said with a wink. Levi proceeded to sing ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ by James Taylor and after a round of applause, left the stage and headed to the bar. The bartender had been giving him free drinks all night since he was a big fan, and Levi gratefully accepted. He sidled up to the familiar face to his right as he was served his drink. “I’m running out of song ideas. My knowledge of showtunes greatly overpowers my knowledge of standards. Any suggestions?”
