Pav could barely move when she woke up is the cold, cement floor of the room she was being held captive in. The cuts on her arms and legs were scarring over, but they still throbbed every bit as sharply as they did when they were inflicted. Every part of her body ached and burned. She didn't know they were doing this anymore. They'd tortured her, had their fun, she shouldn't be alive. The fact that she still was terrified her. As much as she tried not to think about it, her mind kept drifting to what was next, what other atrocities were coming for her the next time the door opened. She just wanted them to kill her, get the inevitable overwith and not make her son sufer any longer. She closed her eyes tightly as she heard footsteps coming down the hallway towards her, trying to hold the tears in. Her arms still cradling the small child that kicked vehemently inside her.
"Ms. McLaggen, I hope you've had sometime to reconsider my offer from yesterday," the man mentioned as he walked in the room. "I will walk you out of here to St. Mungo's myself if you get my wife's murderer to come out of those gates." He spoke all to calmly.
"I'm not going to let you kill my pregnant best friend." She spat, her jaw clenching despite her growing fear. A move that quickly earned her a slap, the man's ring slicing her cheek open during the motion. She winced but tried not to let it show.
"Stupid girl." he mumbled. "Don't you have any self preservation for yourself or your child?"
"You're going to kill me no matter what I tell you so this conversation is pointless." She said, "Even if you didn't, i'd rather die knowing my sister is safe then live knowing I killed her." She said, hiding the defeat in her voice. She stiffened involuntarily as he pointed his wand and mumbled a spell she'd never heard before. Her head immediately throbbed intensely with little pops of stabbing pain, bringing her to her knees quickly.
"You're right. You wouldn't have lived anyway." He hissed, "Maybe you'll feel like talking later. Just remember you are just as useful dead as you are alive. Everyone will wander out of that little fortress for your funeral." And with that he walked out of the room without lifting the spell.
