“Dammit, go away!” Junpei fired a few shots at the wraith, before ducking and running. These things were such a pain- why’d they have to show up? What the hell was even going on? Who knew, it didn’t matter- he just had to survive. He’d survive, because that’s what he had to do.

He hadn’t been able to calm himself since this all started- he was feeling everything and nothing, and it was overwhelming. It seemed like he’d managed to avoid the wraith for a moment- but he’d run face-to-face into a strange child, who appeared to have brought one of her own. 

“Fuck, just stop already!” Frustrated and tired as he may be, he couldn’t ignore a kid, He fired off a few more shots, before looking for a direction that they could leave in.

Junpei was, despite his looks, someone well-suited for a situation such as this. he was already quite accustomed to being knocked unconscious and waking up in a new place (thanks for that, Zero), and he was even so lucky as to get dropped in someplace that wasn’t abandoned by all signs of humanity. In fact, it was just the opposite- this place was filled with buildings, each one fancier and more impressive than the last.

However, looks don’t mean shit when you’re trying to survive. A quick check from his belt loop found Inari’s pokeball still there (thank fuck for that), an his phone was in his pocket- he’d best find something for self-defense, and fast.

He was not above stealing in situations like this, so after checking that there were no pissed-off NPCs waitng to ambush him, he ducked into a nice-looking department store to grab some supplies. Twenty minutes and a duffle bag later he emerged, ready to head for somewhere that he could set up camp that seemed relatively safe.

“Inari, there!” Junpei was running down the street with his trusted companion, sprinting by to avoid any more run-ins with the quite irate people who were residing here. it didn’t matter why they’d ended up like this, or how- all that mattered was that they were fully intending to kill him, and he was not planning on dying. Or at least, not like this.

At his command the little vulpix shot a stream of fire, cutting off their pursuers as he clutched his bag of supplies a little bit closer. Inari wasted no time in catching back up to him once she’d done her job, jumping out in front of him with a growl when they came across another person, this time a guy with red hair.

Grunting in frustration, Junpei pulled a metal bar out of his bag- until his brain clicked, and he realized that he recognized who he was standing in front of. “Hold up there, Inari. I think he’s fine.”

The professor had been in the middle of making a campfire using some of the wood of the already low amount of trees in the area. He had already made a makeshift tent and is beginning to prepare for tonight’s sleep. Professor Layton hoped that the campfire would deter the cold away. It was quite a mess. Hershal had just been brought back to the city, yet he was technically kicked out to the outer districts.

“Hm?” He heard footsteps. Turning towards the sound, a young girl appeared in his sights “Ah. Were you sent here like me?” The man asked the other, curious of the other’s origin.
