Almost the moment he made the post, Mads Altair put Hinata’s magic ring on. He’d been looking forward to this trade for a week and a half, and had already handed his friend the ring with the dog magic in return. He wondered a lot of things, whether he’d keep his wings, what color he’d be, what sort of magic he’d have, how much better this might make him feel; it would take a few seconds to find out, as the transformation wasn’t quite instantaneous.
First a purple tint appeared on his hand, spreading across his skin up his arm and to the rest of his body, while his nails sharpened and small pads appeared on the tips of his fingers. He was starting to get a headache and grabbed his head next to his lengthening ears, grinding his sharpening teeth. Thick horns emerged from his skull, pushing his styled, now color-shifting hair out of shape and curving to a point a couple of inches above his head. Soon, Mads’ wings popped out of his back unwillingly, nearly knocking Hinata over, and the feathers began to press together tightly, sealing into one smooth surface, reshaping in minor ways to become more akin to a dragon’s, minus the scales, but keeping the color scheme.
The tiefling opened his glowing, solid purple eyes once the minor pain was gone, holding out his hands in front of him to examine, already grinning a shark’s grin. There was a rush going through him, a certain kind of inner confidence and synchronicity he hadn’t had in years, a burning flame (metaphorically) pushing him to Be. He stood up off Hinata’s couch, stretched, took a deep breath, and laughed as loudly as possible. Just because he could.
This would be about as fun as he expected.
