Stevie loved town events like this. You gotta dress up and see your neighbors dressed up too and everyone was having a good time. With a drink in her hand, she was talking with some of the PTA moms about the dance that was the previous night for the middle schoolers when her eyes scanned the crowd and spotted Summer. Excitement built up in her and she felt like a teen again as she screamed one of her best friend’s names and ran to hug her. “I didn’t know you were back in town!” She yelled with excitement. “I’m gonna forgive you for not telling me because I’m just too damn excited!”

Nancy had tried texting her daughter back and urge her to stay at The Wilson to be safe. The last thing she wanted was for her to be out and get hurt somehow. And she had tried doing the same with her son and panicked when she couldn’t get ahold of either of them. With cell service spotty, she wasn’t sure if she’d be getting ahold of either of them during the night, but at some point, she finally got a call that her daughter was in the hospital. Panicked ensued and she had Harrison drive her to the hospital. After finally getting there, she got her daughter’s room and raced there. “Renee, baby.” She said as she entered and went to her bed, touching her head. “How are you? What happened?”

Matt was taking a little break from work before heading back and finishing out the day. Throughout town, people were getting ready to go to the auction or to the Anti-Valentine’s Party and it was fun to see all the dressed up people. However, it always got him thinking about Emily and he would get sad. He kept trying to push passed it and would put on a smile whenever he saw someone. Like now when River came into the coffee shop. He smiled and waved to him before his hand was placed back on his coffee cup. “Hey. You going to the auction or something?”

It seemed like Nathaniel had pulled it off. Everywhere he looked, the citizens of East Haven were having a good time. Couples were dancing, others were still picking at their dinners, and a lot were talking and looking over items for the auction. He loved seeing everyone in town like this and it made it always made him happier when he looked across the room and saw his mom smile with approval. Making her proud was always something he wanted to do now more than ever with being mayor. However, making his wife proud was even more important and just seeing her with a smile on her face as she talked with everyone made him the happiest man in the world. Making his way over, he took her hand and smiled. “If you excuse us, I owe this beauty a dance.” Nate said as he excused her from the conversation and led her to the dance floor. “Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?”

Part of Beyza had wished she convinced Hazal to attend this with her. While she was social and loved going out to these events, she liked having someone there that was her constant and she could decompress with for a few and Hazal was always her constant. Her right hand. She wouldn’t have gotten through all these years without her sister. However, she was at Nancy’s and here Beyza was drinking some champagne and looking over the table of the gift items. There were a lot of great options, but she wasn’t sure what she’d used any for as she wasn’t actually seeing anyone. Though, she was thinking about the sailing to use as a photoshoot opportunity. She turned around to look back over the crowd and as a picture flashed, her eyes went to the person who took it.

The glass in her hand fell and shattered on the floor. Anyone who looked over at her saw someone who looked like they saw a ghost and only came out of this short startled trance when a waiter came over to help clean the mess she made. She bent down to help, but her eyes stayed focused on the person who wasn’t supposed to be there. But as she watched, the shock started to give way for anger and she stood and walked over to her older sister; whom she hadn’t seen in over six years. “Melisa.” She said and crossed her arms. “What are you doing here?”

“You know, I think we’re the best looking couple here.” Stevie grinned as her hand slipped into Johnny’s. She loved being there with him that night and loved seeing him all dressed up in a suit. It was giving her flashes to their future wedding and making her more excited about it, if it was even possible. She was so in love with him and every time she looked at him, it made her even more ready to be his wife. Her hands glided to his bowtie and fixed it before smiling and smoothed his jacket. “Maybe for the wedding you should wear this bowtie.” She smiled. “And when we get home, maybe only the bowtie.”
